Aliyah Hasinah is a curator, writer and filmmaker whose work focuses on decolonial approaches to history and the present day. She curates exhibitions, produces events, festivals and consults on campaigns/projects. She currently produces for black and brown womxn’s platform Heaux Noire and is head of Relationships and Partnerships at Maia Group. She has co-curated the internationally acclaimed exhibit ‘The Past is Now’ (2017-18) at Birmingham Museum and Art Gallery, ‘This is the Gallery and the Gallery is Many Things X’ at Eastside Projects (2018) and Bald Black Girls (2019) in addition to various exhibitions across Birmingham and London. She recently founded The Black Curational Labs, a virtual and physical space for curational experimentation.
